Grilled Jalapeno Burgers

Spicy Good!

jalapeno peppers

These Grilled Jalapeno Burgers with sweet onions and pepper jack cheese.........well if spicy is what you prefer, this is just the one for you. This is an easy recipe. Just make sure you have a glass of water on hand, you might need it.

Full of flavor, juicy and the jalapeno peppers are wonderful. Another tasty treat, guacamole! This is one fiery burger.....Yum. Now, you can take it down a notch if you want, just don't use as many jalapenos.

Grilled Jalapeno Burger with
Sweet Onions & Pepper Jack Cheese

1 1/2 pounds ground sirloin
1/3 cup sliced jalapenos
4 - 8 slices Pepper Jack Cheese
Salt & Pepper
1/2 small sweet onion thinly sliced
4 large hamburger buns
Romaine Lettuce
Store bought guacamole

  • Divide ground sirloin into 4 patties. Season
both sides with salt & pepper. Cover with
plastic wrap, set out for 20 minutes.
  • Start grill, heat for 15 minutes. Thinly
slice the sweet onion and measure jalapenos,
you may need more then 1/3 cup, depends on
    your guests preference.

  • When grill is hot, place burgers on grill.
Cook 4-5 minutes, rotating half way through
cook time to get grill marks. Flip and cook
    another 4-5 minutes, rotating again.
    Cooked to medium-rare.
  • During last 2 minutes, carefully place
several jalapeno slices on each patty,
top with 1 or 2 slices cheese.
When done, place on serving platter,
cover loosley with foil, rest 5 minutes.

  • During last minute, split hamburger
    buns down middle, toast on
    grill, about 1 minute.

  • Spread guacamole on top of bun,
place lettuce & onion slice on
bottom bun & top with burger.

  • How simple is that! These are
    fiery and fantastic.

    Variations:

  • If you want to take the spice down a little just
use Monterey Jack cheese or Provolone.
  • Choose your favorite condiments, mustard is great
with this as is adding sliced tomatoes.
  • Dale and Thomas Popcorn
Cook's Note: Add 2 minutes per side to cook to medium, or if you preference is well done; add another 2 minutes to cook time.

Time will vary depending on your grill and how big you make a burger. Once you get the feel for your grill, you will instinctively know when the burgers are cooked to your liking. Enjoy this recipe!
