Self Filling Cupcakes

This easy recipe for Self Filling Cupcakes needs no frosting because the center is loaded with chocolate chips and cream cheese. It is an odd name for a tasty treat, but during the baking process the cake batter bakes around the filling!

If you like cream cheese and chocolate chips you are going to enjoy biting into these cupcakes. Creamy, moist and delicious.

A fantastic treat for a kids birthday party, office party, brunch or just because they are yummy!


German Chocolate Creamy
Filled Cupcakes


1 pkg German Chocolate Cake Mix
1 - 8 oz pkg cream cheese (softened)
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
Pinch of salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix on low speed the sugar, egg, salt & cream
    cheese with an electric mixer until well blended. Stir
    in chocolate chips. Set aside.
  • Prepare cake mix as directed. Fill muffin
    tins(lined) 2/3 full and drop a heaping teaspoon
    of the cream cheese mixture into each cupcake,
    bake as directed.
