Citrus Spiced Steak Kabobs are marinated with Habanero chile peppers along with orange and lemon juices for a delicious grilled meat. Easy and quick, all you need is some
grilled garlic bread
and you have the perfect meal.
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 cup orange juice
3/4 cup Green onions roughly chopped
6 cloves garlic
2 Habanero chile peppers, seeded, roughly chopped
1 tsp orange zest
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 1/2 cups Olive oil
1 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp black pepper
3 lbs Sirloin Tip Steak, trimmed cut into 1 1 /2 inch pieces
1 large red onion, cut into wedges, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
1 orange bell pepper cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
2 small Zucchini, cut into 3/4 inch rounds,
10 - 12 inch wooden skewers, soaked for 20 minutes in water
Place lemon juice, orange juice, green onions, garlic, habanero peppers, zest & Dijon mustard in a bowl of a food processor with blade attachment. Turn processor on and drizzle in oil while processor is running. Mix well, Add salt and Pepper.
Add cubed meat to large zip-top plastic bag, add half the marinade, seal and mix. In another zip-top bag add the veggies, and the remaining marinade. Seal and mix well. Refrigerate bags for 2 - 4 hours.
Preheat grill for 10 minutes. Remove meat and veggies from marinade, discard marinade. Alternately thread beef and veggies onto skewers, leaving about 1/4 inch between beef and veggies. Oil grill grates.
Grill kabobs, rotating every 2-3 minutes until beef and veggies are cooked to desired doneness; 8-9 minutes medium-rare, 10-11 minutes medium or 12-15 minutes for well-done.
