Chocolate Pan Cake



This easy recipe for Chocolate Pan Cake is scrumptious. The cake is moist, the frosting is a rich and delicious.

If you are a true chocoholic then you are going to love this yummy cake. A perfect for dessert when you need to serve larger groups.




The Cake
Chocolate Base:
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 cup water
2 sticks butter

Dry Ingredients Bowl:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda

Liquids:
2 eggs
1/4 sour milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In sauce pan, over
    medium-high add chocolate base ingredients,
    bring to boil. Set aside
  • Large mixing bowl add flour, sugar & baking soda,
    pour the chocolate sauce mixture over dry ingredients.
    Add eggs, sour milk (just add 1 tsp. lemon juice) and vanilla.
    Mix with electric mixer on medium speed, 2 minutes.
  • Grease as 17 inch cookie sheet, pour batter into
    prepared pan, bake for 15 minutes.
  • Cool Completely and frost with Chocolate Icing.

    Chocolate Icing:
    1 stick unsalted butter
    4 tablespoons cocoa powder
    1 teaspoon Vanilla
    6 tablespoons milk
    One pound powdered sugar
    1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

  • In sauce pan over medium-high heat,
    add butter, cocoa powder, vanilla and milk.
    Bring to boil. Transfer to mixing bowl, add
    the powdered sugar, mix with electric mixer
    until well blended. Add nuts (optional). Pour
    over cooled cake.
  • Super Simple, Super Scrumptious.

    This cake is moist and chocolaty. A crowd pleaser,
    this dessert won't last long.
