Asian Style Slaw

What is Asian Style Slaw? A fantastic salad with flavors like sesame seed and peanut oil; these two ingredients bring traditional Asian cooking ingredients to a cole slaw. The dressing is creamy and the combination of veggies makes this salad one tasty dish.

This easy recipe pairs well with any barbequed meat; I especially like to serve this with grilled or seared Pork Chops.

Creamy Asian Slaw

Dressing:
1 cup mayo, regular or light
1 tbs light Soy Sauce
2 tbs sugar or sugar substitute
1 lime, juiced
2 tbs rice wine vinegar
1 tbs peanut oil
2 tbs seasame seed oil
1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper

Slaw:
1 head Napa Cabbage, thinly sliced
6 scallions (white & green parts) thinly sliced
1/4 head red cabbage, thinly sliced
1 orange or yellow bell pepper, stemmed,
seeded & thinly sliced

  • Combine dressing ingredients, whisk until
    well blended, set aside.
  • Prepare all vegetables, mix in large serving bowl.
Pour dressing onto slaw and mix well. Refrigerate
for 2 hours. Mix again before serving.

  • Serves 10 - 12.

How easy was that? The flavors are wonderful.
This one gets rave reviews when I serve this salad.

Excellent side dish for a pot-luck dinner.
